Legal and Ethical Concerns     A lot of the legal and ethical issues comes up when professionals are working with individuals who suffer from schizophrenia. They face specific challenges especially because schizophrenia affects the way that someone perceives reality and interpretations which can make problems for ethical dilemmas. Some of these ethical issues comes from early detection and prevention, access to care and opportunity, treatment choices, along with the political and social stigma from people with schizophrenia not getting the help they need because of it.       Early prevention and detection is extremely important for slowing or preventing the progression of schizophrenia to maximize treatment. In the United States it has been challenging to deliver these early preventions as those interventions have been implemented in countries where health care systems are centralized ( Noordsy D. L. Blog 5 - Challenges and Accomodations

  Challenges and Solutions      There a lot of challenges when it comes to having Schizophrenia. Not just having the disorder itself, but the accompanying problems than can enhance the unbearability of having schizophrenia. Some of the challenges of having schizophrenia is because it is often difficult for someone to know what is real and unreal, their thinking is all over the place, managing emotions is difficult, being able to relate to other people is hard and just function in day to day life can be exhausting.   Cecilia McGough     This is Cecilia McGough, she has struggled with Schizophrenia since Junior year of highschool but she estimates that it has been there her whole life. Schizophrenia affected her a lot, it affected her psychologically, socially and her perceptions.   What Is Schizophrenia? In 1911 the term Schizophrenia was first used which comes from the greek roots Schizo meaning split and phrene meaning mind  ( Historical and contemporary understandings of schizophrenia .)  This term came about because of Eugen Bleuler , a Swiss psychiatrist.  He used the name Schizophrenia to explain the mental confusion and fragmented thinking that comes along with this mental disorder  ( Historical and contemporary understandings of schizophrenia .)   Now,  w hat exactly is Schizophrenia? to gain a better understanding. According to NAMI, or the National Alliance on Mental Health. It is a mental illness that affects the person's ability to think, regulate emotions, make decisions and relate to others.
